The Melt Department: Where Quality and Precision Meet
When you work with an aluminum casting company, you need to know that they use the best possible materials and use the utmost care when melting them. This ensures that your equipment is made to the highest possible standards. Here at Booses Aluminum, we only pour aluminum using certified, prime ingots and our own internal remelts of gates and risers.
We know that the quality of the metal we pour directly translates into the level of excellence our customers experience. With over 100 years of experience producing aluminum equipment, you can rest assured that it isn’t just effective, it’s also often life-saving.
We pour 356, A356, SR319, and C355 alloys, but alternate alloys can be used, depending on the volume.

How the Melt Department Ensures Superior Aluminum Pours
You can’t risk working with defective equipment made from a defective pour. We use only the most trustworthy equipment and processes developed over countless aluminum castings.
After utilizing our energy-efficient stack melter and crucible gas furnaces for initial melt, the molten aluminum is transferred to an electric resistance holding furnace for metal treatments and quality checks. While melted down, we can monitor the exact makeup of the liquid metal in real time.
While continually monitoring the metal’s temperature, we remove hydrogen (that results from reactions with humidity) and eliminate impurities through a rotary degassing process. We meet the exact alloy requirements, with even minute quantities of alloying material imparting unique qualities to the resulting metal.
Before pouring, our specialists test each batch for gas porosity and ensure all alloy chemistry meets specifications.
The Alloys We Melt and Pour
When you need a specific aluminum alloy for your industry’s needs, know that we can provide the aluminum you need! Our aluminum casting capabilities include a wide array of aluminum metallic alloys. When we work with you, we will work hard to ensure you get the best fit for your needs.
Beyond our standard alloys, we can also research and find a more unusual or uncommon metallic alloy that might fit your unique needs, depending on the production size. Manufacturing requires flexibility and agility, which is what you get when you choose Boose Aluminum Foundry!
356/A356
356 is a go-to alloy for casting jobs of all kinds, especially due to its castability. It has excellent fluidity, which allows it to be cast into intricate shapes. Its other properties include good weldability, machineability, and corrosion resistance.
SR319/319
Typically 319 is not heat treated, as it is a self-aging alloy. This alloy is known for its dimensional stability while machining, as well as being one of the most economical aluminum alloys.
C355
This alloy is known for its high strength and good mechanical properties. Its strength is often higher than other alloys particularly after heat treatment. C355 also has good fatigue resistance making it suitable for high-stress applications.

In the Melt Room, Quality is our Priority
When you choose Boose Aluminum, you can trust that you will only receive the best equipment made from certified, prime aluminum alloy ingots. We apply consistent quality-control practices during every stage of melting and casting. We conduct testing throughout the process to meet or exceed quality requirements for each metal we pour. That’s because everything we cast matters.
