Production Capabilities to Count On
You need to know that any materials you receive from your aluminum casting services will adhere to your needs. Aluminum alloys are not catch-all, and we have an array of alloys that we can work with, including:
- 356/A356 – Typically used in aerospace and automotive industries.
- SR319/319 – Often used in transportation and marine applications.
- A206 – Durable and often used in electric and performance vehicles.
- C355 – High tensile strength ideal for compressors and engines.
Each alloy has unique properties that will make it suit different industrial and commercial demands. We have nearly a century of experience and the knowledge that comes with it. And as metallurgy has advanced, so have we. Today, we offer the benefit of many automated and robotized processes that give our casts consistent quality while producing as quickly as possible.
Tried and True Casting Methods
We have been in consistent operation since 1933 and have built our reputation based on our excellent aluminum casting services, quality output, and rapid turnaround. Our primary focus is on green sand molding, as this method has been in use since the very beginning of our operation. We also employ dry sand molding for large projects. Both of these methods offer unique benefits and uses, particularly for industrial and commercial needs.
Green sand casting is an economical process thanks to low tooling costs, high precision, and rapid output. This process is ideal for most industrial and commercial needs, thanks to the production rate. Green sand refers to the unbaked quality of the sand mold, which reduces the number of steps in production. The quick and efficient turnaround is useful for many industrial and commercial applications and requires minimal tooling after the cast materials leave the mold.
No-bake sand casting is the preferred method for larger pieces, those ranging from 50 to 800 pounds. Often, this is used for industrial jobs that require sizable casts. In this process, a mixture of sand, catalyst, and binder is combined in a high-speed mixer. This mixture is packed around a large pattern and allowed to dry to a concrete-like consistency. After stripping the mold off of the pattern, both halves are thoroughly inspected and tooled to ensure a smooth pouring and quality cast.
Both no-bake and green sand moldings have the added benefit of making our aluminum casting services environmentally friendly. Both procedures result in waste sand that we can reclaim and reuse after treatment. We recognize the need to be as efficient as possible with all our materials.
20×24 Hunter Automatic Molding
The 20×24 Hunter Automatic Molding machine is one of our most productive devices. If you need a larger quantity of high-quality aluminum casts, this will likely be how we meet your expectations. This device can handle more than 100 molds per hour thanks to its innovative design that pours, cools, and discharges in a regular cycle. This machine allows you to save time and money.
Shine Bright with the Finishing Department
Our process results in castings that have rough surfaces when de-molded. However, thanks to our finishing department, we can produce shining pieces that meet specifications. For both small and large-scale projects, we always begin by removing the gating system – the metal columns formed by the channels we pour aluminum through. Then, every cast undergoes grinding and finishing to clean and smooth the surface.
Finally, we use shot-blasting to create a uniform surface that is ready for any operations the pieces will need after, such as machining or painting. Our finishing technicians and quality-control specialists follow proven procedures that ensure every cast is given the attention it deserves.
Assurance from Our Quality Control
You want high-quality aluminum casting services that will hold up to frequent use. Every batch of sand, every block of raw metal, and every alloy is closely inspected and tested for assurance that the cast materials will stay strong under regular use. Our quality control experts will perform a variety of inspections to ensure your needs are met and tailor their testing to your specifications. Hardness and tensile strength, digital radiography, and spectrometry for each melt are just a few of our standard tests. We also perform liquid penetration inspections to test for longevity and resistance.
